Julie Szegda

Founder, Managing Director

As co-founder and Managing Director of LINC, Julie coordinates with LINC staff on project development and conducts simulation exercises. She recently authored Immediate Crisis and Long-term Stability: The Case of Haiti for the Kennedy School of Government’s 17th Annual International Development Conference at Harvard University. She has also worked with the United States Institute of Peace, the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic and Global Foundation for Democracy and Development, Carnegie Mellon University H. John Heinz III College of Public Policy and Management, the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council, Korea Economic Institute, American University Washington Semester Program, the Peace-building and Development Institute, Kids for Peace Foundation Israel/Palestine Youth Summit, UPeace/US, and the International Peace and Security Institute in Bologna, Italy.

 

Julie is the Middle East expert for LINC. She worked for the Chamber of Commerce for Haifa and Northern Israel in 2002 as well as the Mossawa Centre, also located in Israel in 2007. She studied at Haifa University’s Overseas Studies program from 2005-2006 and at George Mason University’s Global Studies Program in Israel/Palestine in 2007. Julie holds a Masters degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University’s School of International Service where she was a co-founder of the American University Negotiation Project.  She has eight years experience in teaching and training.
