Rebecca F. Rogers is a member of LINC working on simulation research, design and editing. Ms. Rogers specializes in projects related to environmental conservation, peacebuilding and reconciliation, with a geographical focus in Latin America. Ms. Rogers has more than six years of professional experience working in conservation and sustainable development, primarily working with the tourism sector. Most recently, she held the position of Business Practices Manager/Travel Industry Analyst with the global non-profit organization, Conservation International, working to establish best practices by leading travel industry companies such as Royal Caribbean and Marriott for the benefit of biodiversity conservation and human well-being in some of the world’s most awesome and highly visited destinations. Ms. Rogers also worked for several years in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest with a local non-profit organization, the Yachana Foundation, an organization which promotes ecotourism and sustainable agriculture to raise funds which may then be redirected to finance the Foundation’s efforts in rainforest conservation, youth education, healthcare, microenterprise, and other programs to benefit the local environment and communities of the Amazon region. Prior to this, Ms. Rogers worked with the United States Peace Corps, helping to coordinate pre-departure orientation and training, or ‘Staging’, events for Peace Corps volunteers preparing to head overseas. Ms. Rogers holds a BA in International Studies from the American University’s School of International Service in Washington, D.C., as well as an MA in International Peace and Conflict Resolution with a focus on environmental peacebuilding and sustainable development. She speaks fluent Spanish, Portuguese, and some Italian.
