Christopher A. Jones



Christopher A. Jones is a member of LINC working on simulation research and design. Mr. Jones specializes in projects related to Russia, Central Asia, and the Caucasus, as well as U.S. embassy operations and the petroleum industry. Outside of LINC, Mr. Jones has over three years experience working in the U.S. government. He has also worked in the International Affairs Office of Occidental Petroleum, where he developed and implemented lobbying strategies to promote Occidental’s foreign business operations. Mr. Jones currently lives in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where he is completing a FLAS language training fellowship, which he received from Stanford University. Prior to living in Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Jones was an NSEP Boren Fellow in Kazan, Russia, where he spent one year conducting field research on nationalist movements in Russia and taking intensive Russian language training. He has lived and traveled throughout Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus, and speaks Russian and some Tatar.

Mr. Jones has an MA in Russian and Central Asian Studies from Stanford University and an MA in International Politics from American University, where he wrote his thesis on national sovereignty movements in the Republic of Tatarstan. He received his BA in History and Political Science from Bradley University.
